| My fiancé gave me a beautiful purple orchid one sunny morning. I used to work in a plant nursery in my 20’s and I absolutely love having plants inside my home. Orchids, however, were always the most difficult for me to care for since I had a habit of over watering (and orchids don’t like to be over watered at all!). Even though I thought orchids were lovely to look at, I had never owned one because I didn’t want to see it suffer in my care. My fiancée did not know this. He was smiling, holding out the flowering orchid to me, excited to be giving me this gift. So, this became my first orchid to own.
Time has passed. I am relieved to say that the orchid is still very healthy and continues to thrive.
