| The deep blue water shimmers, inviting me. I am about to jump off a rope swing, naked, into a lake. Fear grips me. I am actually afraid of being in water and rarely swim in the ocean, almost never in freshwater. “What will happen when I let go of the rope?” Not waiting for an answer I grab the rope and take a running leap, swinging out over the lake. I let go and fall through the sky into the cool, refreshing water. “I knew you could do it,” she whispers, laughing. “You know I will always catch you.” It is true; I leaped into the arms of the Divine. That day, fear met courage, and lost. |
